I am a painter and graphic designer. I earned my degree in painting (through much blood, sweat, and late hours) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and now work as the lead graphic designer at a local print shop. I give my time to tutoring students in drawing and painting, and to being a gallery coordinator for 815 Arts, a local non-profit collective dedicated to serving artists in Lincoln, NE. I am also a devoted husband to a lovely fiber artist, Katie, and father of zero children.
My recent work stems from an interest in the physical places we inhabit, and how we relate to them through memory, associations, and our own physical presence—or lack thereof. Because of this I’ve been very influenced by the works of Edward Hopper and Andrew Wyeth, among many others.
